About bongos

Sound and Character

Sound and Character

The sound of bongos is high, dry, clicking, and piercing. The small drum (macho) sounds very high, while the large drum (hembra) sounds slightly lower. They are ideal for crafting high-speed rhythmic patterns with the fingers.

Design and Features

Two small wooden cylinders of different diameters, open at the bottom, rigidly connected to each other by a small wooden plank. The membranes are traditionally leather, tunable with metal screws.
